Responsibilities:
The Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining the user interface portions of our customer facing websites. The designer is part of a small design team in the NetSpend Online division, and works with team member and other stakeholders such as marketing and business development to create site specifications from requirements documents, creates graphics and implements page layout, works with developers to integrate pages into a functional site, and takes part in the internal and external review process for new customer facing pages.- Maintain existing website pages, content, and graphics, and design new site concepts, graphics, information architectures, user interfaces, and the overall customer experience for new and existing websites using a strong user-oriented design approach.
- Work closely with the software development team to integrate the front-end design with back-end functionality.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and team members to define, clarify and implement new websites, design changes, and co-branded content.
- Organize own workflow, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
- Ensure that all site pages follow proper web standards for compatibility with multiple browsers and operating systems.
Skills/Education/Experience:
- 3+ years experience in user-oriented web design required.
- Must be proficient in (X)HTML, CSS, and designing to web standards.
- Experience with source control tools (e.g. CVS); Strong graphic design skills and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Prefer experience in financial services or in a high-transaction processing environment.
- Exposure to PHP or similar template technology; JavaScript experience; experience with print design and pre-press techniques, familiarity with database driven websites.
- Usability testing; Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in working in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results, prioritize activities, and to manage time effectively.
- Bachelors of Fine Arts in Design or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to pass a criminal check (no felonies or misdemeanors), drug test, and meet credit check requirements of less than $4,000 in collections or charge-offs.
