3-6 month contract opportunity for a talented UI Designer:
- Provides strategic direction and concept development for the functionality and user interface design for new site product offerings. Will work collaboratively with site Visual Designers to ensure balance between form and function.
- As part of the product development process the Interface Designer will be required to develop user flow models, product maps, interaction concept sketches, wireframes, mockups, and testing prototypes.
- Collaborate with the design, user experience, product, and development teams to proactively gather and understand stakeholder and end-user needs in order to create the best user experience possible.
- Provides time estimates for each stage of the of the development process as applicable.
Other Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of interaction design, user interface design, and user experience concepts as they pertain to web development.
- The ability to promote design principles and methods while also understanding business needs and goals
- Excellent team player with a flexible, collaborative approach
- Experience in a fast paced, detailed oriented, deadline driven environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills - able to explain web design proposals and decisions to stakeholders and project requestors.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- 3+ yrs of web design/development experience
- 1+ yrs of HTML coding experience
- 1+ yrs of CSS coding experience
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Advanced ability to create user flows, site maps, concept sketches, mockups, and testing prototypes for web based products.
- Strong knowledge of web browsers and cross platform constraints.
- Strong understanding of web standards compliance
- In-depth experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS. JavaScript is a plus
- Working knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and issues related to enhancing 508 compliance
- Experience with standard prototyping, visual design and web editing programs.
